FIANZA FUND: Reunite Blanca with her children!

Help Blanca get free and renite with her children in New Orleans!

DMSC's Fronterizo Fianza Fund, together with ALDEA-The People's Justice Center, and Pantsuit Republic-Houston are raising money to pay Blanca Vasquez's $7,500 bond. Blanca crossed the border in October with her 12-year-old son and surrendered herself as an asylum seeker to Border Patrol. Blanca's other son had previously sought asylum and was released under bond. All fear persecution by criminal gangs and the government itself in El Salvador. Federal agents separated Blaca from her son, charged her with illegal entry, and threw her in jail in El Paso. Blanca was later transferred to ICE detention and was granted a bond offer by an immigration judge on February 21.

Blanca's case is important to us (1) because of how much she's been through already and (2) because DMSC members have accompanied her in detention and helped her legal case by providing free document translation through our guerrilla translation team.

$7,500 is a relatively low bond offer in the El Paso immigration court, and we need your support to make this happen! Along with the bond amount, Blanca needs money to help with transportation and legal costs. If released, Blanca will be able to join her sons in New Orleans while her court case plays out, which could take years.
